Branch Treasurers Convention 2010

Over 80 branch treasurers/secretaries attended the 2010 convention held in Blackpool over the 29th /30th January 2010.

Friday evening was an informal get together for Branch Treasurers.

Saturday morning was spent looking at the recently introduced rules & regulations covering branch honoraria and expenses payments. The session was lead by Sotirios from HQ finance department, and ended with a lively question & answer session. Click here to download a copy of the National guidelines.

The first half of Saturday afternoon was give over to looking at what’s coming next, a computerised branch cash book that is being developed for branch book-keeping. As always we ended the convention with questions and answers on annual returns problems. We hope to run another convention early next year – details to follow.

Branch Annual Financial Returns
Once again it was pleasing to see that the branch response to completing and sending back the annual financial return in this region was excellent. Only three branches did not meet the deadline and of these the return was received only a few day’s late from two of the branches. Only one branch return is still outstanding at the time of writing.
 

National Income & Membership Processing Section (Imps)
A considerable amount of the work that was previously undertaken by UNISON HQ finance department is now done by the Imps unit. The contact number for this unit is 0800 917 3047, or e-mail them on IMPSBranches@unison.co.uk
