Initial Basic Training For Branch Officers 2010

All the courses below take place from 9.30-4.30 each day at Arena Point, the UNISON regional centre in Manchester:

• Chairing Skills, 29-30 April 2010
• Communications in the Branch, 25-26 May 2010
• Education/Life Long Learning Co-ordinators, 26-27 May 2010
• Equalities in the Branch, 13-14 May 2010
• Health and Safety Officers, 24-25 May 2010
• Secretaries, 27-28 April 2010
• Treasurers, 18-19 May 2010
• Welfare Officer Training - will be run on a cross-regional basis. Course dates will be advertised in e-Focus and In Focus and on the UNISON Welfare webpages www.unison.org.uk/welfare.   You should apply for these courses in the same way as you apply for a National course.

Some of the above modules are open to others in the branch who do not hold the particular branch officer post eg An experienced steward, rather than the Branch Chairperson, may regularly chair a meeting and would wish to attend the Chairing Skills module.
