Show Racism the Red Card

Show Racism the Red Card is a charity organisation which seeks to stamp out racism.  It was started in the North East in 1996 and holds events at football clubs throughout the country using the high profile of professional footballers to talk to young people about racism in sport and in society at large.

UNISON, along with other trade unions, has been a long standing supporter of the organisation and recognises the potential of football to help overcome divisions between differences in our communities and society.

From visiting schools and doing training in the workplace along with producing a range of videos and written material Show Racism The Red Card have campaigned against racism, homophobia, Islamophobia and discrimination against our traveller communities.

They have played a vital role in helping to ensure that all these forms of discrimination are no longer deemed to be acceptable in our society.
